Hungry Mondays

Are you hungry? So are we!

About a week ago we conducted a survey to see which restaurants you loved most in London.

Here are both your favorites, and our own! Each of these restaurants were hand-selected to bring you the best of the best, and  even more, they aren’t going to break your wallet!

If you’re in a HURRY!

Your choice: Subway

Of course Subway is always an easy choice when on the run, but we’re not so sure it’s the best London has to offer.

Our choice: Pret-a-Manger

Fast, fresh, and easy- Pret-a-Manger is great for those days when you’re running late, or even want to have a clean picnic in the park. They’re also scattered all around London, so accessing one is not difficult. What more could you ask for?!

If you’re craving THAI

Your choice: Blue Elephant

Though it’s located a little further out of the way and slightly more expensive than the rest, this restaurant’s beautiful exterior is almost as great as their food. The staff is international and helpful, and the food is almost as authentic as London gets.

Our choice: The Heron

Located in tiny basement, The Heron has won awards for being one of the most authentic Thai options in London. This is the real deal, when the restaurant says spicy, they mean it, and the reviews are just as incredible as the food they serve. Near Edgware Road, all you need to dine here is an empty stomach and about £10 to ensure yourself a great evening. PS- They have karaoke.

If you’re craving INDIAN

Your choice: Tayyabs

Tayyabs is great! With long tables and big portions, ordering a few starters and mains shouldn’t cost you more than £30. The food is fresh and the restaurant is constantly featured in some on London’s top food blogs! Long story short, few other restaurants can compete.

Just make sure to make a reservation and BYOB, this restaurant is un-licensed (though the no corking fee doesn’t hurt their reputation) and fills up the 120-person banquet room faster than you would expect.

Our choice: Tayyabs

This is one choice where we 100% agree with our readers. It’s hard to get much better than this Punjabi classic. They have great options spanning from the traditional dishes, rich Dahl, and curries. Though, don’t even think about visiting without trying the fiery grilled lamb chops (called the best dish in London according to Time Out Magazine)

Just because we’ve written this first version of #HungryMonday’s already doesn’t mean we still don’t want to know your favorite restaurants! You have to help us write next week’s segment; make sure to give us your opinion. Take the survey here:
